What started as a day to be thankful for the harvest and blessings of the past year, today Thanksgiving has a more personal and familial significance. It’s a day for friends and families to come together and celebrate the joys of life, and be thankful for all the blessings in their life.
Isn’t that wonderful? After all, what is life if we don’t stop, count, celebrate and rejoice our blessings.
As a business owner, we have a lot to be thankful for — our successes, the big wins, our employees, our partners, vendors, our families that support us and many others who help us grow and achieve our goals. But, I believe that business owners are, and should be, most thankful for their biggest supporters — their customers.
Our customers are the driving force behind everything we do. Our products and services are designed for them, our goals are centred around them and every communication we put out and the message we want to spread is for our customers.
This Thanksgiving Thursday let’s stop and be grateful for the continued support of our customers, and why not let them know how much we appreciate them. 2020 has been a challenging year for most of us, and as business owners, we have a lot to be thankful for and our customer’s support definitely tops that list.
Just like there are many things to be thankful for, there are many ways to show and say it. We’ve listed some ways you can let your customers know how much you appreciate them.
7 Ways To Say Thank You To Your Customers
‘Thank You!’
Two tiny but magical words that bring a smile to anyone’s face, and foster lifelong relationships. Your customers are the reason behind your success, and it’s time to show how thankful you are. Here are seven simple ways to say thank you and show how much you value your customers.
1. Thank You Email
Email marketing is an effective tool to get right into your customer’s inbox and get their attention. While you may send a lot of emails to notify your customers about transactions, orders, renewals or offers, it’s time to say ‘Thank you’. Thank them for their support, thank them for their belief in your business and thank them for helping you be the best version of yourself. Don’t think too hard about how to write a thank you email, keep it simple and keep it personal, and it’ll work its magic.
2. Discount Coupons
Just like we exchange gifts at Thanksgiving dinners with friends and family, offering a discount coupon to your customers as a token of thankfulness will be much appreciated by them. You could offer exclusive discounts to customers through emails or run a site-wide discount for all website visitors.
3. Free Delivery/Shipping
If offering discounts is not feasible for your business at the moment, you could offer a simple thankfulness gesture like free delivery or shipping for every order. No matter how small your effort, it always makes a significant impact. You could even offer free gift wrapping services or add a handwritten ‘thank you’ note to every order. Remember, nothing goes unnoticed!
4. Customer Success Stories
Your customers are the backbone of your success, why not give them a shoutout and let them know how proud you are of them. Showcase the wins, stories and success of your customers and help one another grow. Let them know how much you appreciate them and how thankful you are of them by sharing their stories. You could run a series of customer appreciation posts, make Instagram stories to market your business as well as showcase their wins, or use other social platforms to highlight your customer’s stories.
5. Feedback or Survey Forms
Let your customers know that you value their opinions, needs and feedback by sharing a simple feedback or survey form. Thank them for their continued support and ask them to help you do even better. After all, everything you do is for your customers. Why not ask them what more can you offer and what do they expect from you? This could be a wonderful opportunity to get some great feedback and also work on it to offer even better customer satisfaction.
6. Free Downloadable Material
Who doesn’t love freebies? Sometimes the most special gifts come in the form of knowledge and expertise. A great way to say thank you could be in the form of free downloadable material, like videos, tutorials, guides, audio-visual clips that can help your customers learn something new, gain value from or better understand and use your products and services. For example, if you’re a marketing agency, you could create downloadable ‘social media marketing calendar templates’ that could help your customers build stronger plans and learn how to make the most of social media marketing.
7. Share Business Milestones
It’s okay to blow your own trumpet sometimes, especially with the people who have helped you achieve your goals and win. Share important business milestones and your own success story with your customers to let them know they’re the reason behind it all. Thank them for helping you achieve these milestones and support your growth.
It’s that simple!
There are no rules or no wrong ideas when it comes to saying ‘Thank You!’
Thank You For Taking The Time!
The fact that you’re still reading this shows how thankful you really are for the support and love your customers show to your business every day. It’s time to say it, show it and most importantly mean it.
